Happy Birthday Kendra!

Kendra turned two today! It was a fun day and she loved being the center of attention. Kendra is such a sweetheart.

I don't know if you can see it but Kendra has a black eye. Barry put her to bed the other night and she wasn't happy about it. As soon as he put her in bed she decided to bail and jump head first out of her bed and she landed on her head and eye. The next day she walked right into Tanner's bike handle bar and made the whole thing worse. She is accident prone, I'm just hoping she grows out of it. She is constantly running into things, tripping, and falling off of things.

School Work

Here is one of Tanner's school assignments that I thought was cute. Click on the picture to enlarge.

Kara's Paper Bag Creations

Kara decided to get creative with paper bags. She wanted to design and make costumes for her and Kendra. Kendra was really excited about it and loved her costume. Kendra decided that Kara's belt completed her look.

Where Are All The Wipes Going?

I have always know that baby wipes are very useful and versatile. Kendra has also come to this knowledge and found a new use for these multipurpose wipes. She always has nice blankets for all of her Carebears and the rubber chicken Nancy gave to her. She lines them all up and covers them up with wipes. These are Carebears that were tucked in by Kendy. The rubber chicken can't be left out.

Trip to Madison

We took advantage of having Barry around this weekend and headed to Madison. The Children's Museum was the first stop.

Kara was tossing pizza.

Kendra and Tanner really liked the boat.

They got to make sock puppets. They loved this, they could cut and glue all they wanted.

Tanner and Kara showing us their moves.
Cheese heads! We tried to go to the capitol but by the time we got there it was closed. We'll have to make another trip soon. We even tried to hit the zoo, but that was closed by the time we got there too.

The Multiple Personalities of Kendra

Kendra had a busy day of dressing up! She helped me make pancakes and Kara had to find her the chef's hat and apron.

Kara and Lily were all dressed up playing "baby school" (I don't know what that game is all about) and Kendra had to dress up too. I don't know if you can see it, but she has a little plastic spider on her finger. She carried that thing around all day.
These next pictures are my favorite. She loves getting into Kara's underwear. She had two pair on. I took pictures from all angles. I also love the headband!

Visitors

My Mom came to Wisconsin to visit this past week. It was fun to have her here and the kids really enjoyed their time spent with her. She was also here to help watch Erin's boys with me. Thank goodness she was here! I wasn't feeling well and she caught the same cold that I had so we did a lot of tag teaming. The Gurneys got to come watch Tan's basketball game and Kara's dance class. This is Barry telling everyone a bedtime story. Porter was a little worried that his Mom and Dad weren't there until I told him that because his Mom wasn't there he could play the Wii as much as he wanted. He seemed happy with that. Both Porter and Peyton were good while their parents were away and we loved having them.

Seen and Heard

Tanner: "Mom can you get me a brown marker?"
Mom: "Why?"
Tan: "I need chest hair!"
Mom: "Why?"
Tan: "For the ladies!"

I still have to get a picture of Tanner and the chest hair that he drew on himself. Kara says, " Tanner's chest hair is ugly." I couldn't agree more!

I was playing hide and go seek with Kara and Kendra and it was my turn to hide.
Kara: "Mom, where are you? Kendy if we don't find her we won't have a mom......then we can do whatever we want. (pause) Do you want some graham crackers? Go get some."
Mom: (whistles to get Kara's attention)
Kara: Mom is that you?
She finds me and then tell on Kendra for getting into the crackers.

Kara loves to sing. She sings in the bathroom, at school, in the car, at the store, everywhere!
Kara singing Baa Baa Black Sheep:
One for the Master
One for the girl
One for the little boy....who.....lives across the street.

Kendra has been very interested in going to the bathroom on the toilet. I can't keep her away from it. She constantly is taking off her diaper so she can sit on the toilet. I need to be more serious about this so maybe we get her out of diapers.
