Here are some fall pictures. Raking and jumping in leaves is always a great way to spend an afternoon.

Kara
This is some artwork by Kara. She drew this picture of mermaids for her friend Lily and I liked it so I had to take a picture. Kara has been so generous lately. She brings gifts to school for Lily almost everyday, giving her stickers, drawings, her brother's rock, her sister's toys or anything else she thinks Lily will like.
Kara loves raking leaves and was very proud of her "huge" leaf pile.
Kara has been working so hard at making it across the monkey bars, and of course with practice she had made it across. Now she is working at skipping bars. I'm not sure her arms are long enough to do it yet.
My Kara also has been so motherly lately toward Kendra. Anything Kendra wants Kara sees that she gets. Here are some examples: Kendra wanted out of bed right after I put her in bed, so Kara got her out. Kendra wanted a Blow pop sucker, so Kara opened one up and gave it to her. Kendra wanted over the baby gate into the kitchen where I was cooking (if you have seen my kitchen you'll understand this) there was no room for her, so Kara lifted her over.

Lost Another One
Tanner had a really loose tooth on Sunday night, but he didn't want it pulled because he wanted to loose the tooth at school so he could get a special tooth necklace to hold his tooth in and a sticker. On Monday he pulled his tooth at school, but then lost it during the day at recess. When he got home he decided to write the Tooth Fairy a note. Luckily the Tooth Fairy was very understanding and still left him money.

Still Sick
Poor Kendra is still sick. When she woke up this morning she seemed to be feeling a little better, but while we were out stocking up on some Children's Tylenol and Motrin, she started with the chills. Her little teeth were chattering like crazy, so we hurried home and she had a fever of 103 and all she wanted to do was sleep. Later she went down for another nap and when she got up she was extremely hot, so I took her temperature again and she was up to 103.8. I called the pediatrician, but they couldn't get her in before they closed so I took her to the urgent care. They took her temp and she was up to 105 so they gave her some Motrin. They took some chest x-rays to check for pneumonia and put her on some good antibiotics, I have to take her in for shots of the antibiotic for the next two days. She also has bilateral ear infections. I think all the meds kicked in because by the time we got home she ate two bananas and three helpings of dinner and she was a lot happier. Hopefully tomorrow she'll be herself again!

Good Night
Kendra has been under the weather today with a cold and a fever. Barry is also on call today so I haven't been able to get out of the house much except to get some milk and that was a little crazy with kids throwing fits in the store...and it wasn't even Kendra.
We came home and got the kids ready for bed and put Kara down at 7:00, her normal bedtime. Tanner and Kendra usually go to bed around 8:00, but tonight Kara noticed for the first time that Tanner and Kendra were still awake while she was in bed. She started bawling and would not settle down. I finally made the other two go to bed too so Kara would stop crying. Kendra wasn't happy (like every night) to sleep. She cried and Kara was all upset that now Kendra was crying so she couldn't sleep. This was a conversation Kara had with Kendra in their bedroom.
Kara: Kendra you’re a good little baby, but I don’t like your crying. I’m allergic to loud crying, but I still love you. I’m allergic to crying can you please stop crying?
Kendra: NO!
Kara: Why, because you want to stay up all night? I hate you when you cry, but I love you. I’m allergic to crying and loud noise because it hurts my ears. It will be OK. But I still love you. I know you don’t feel good. I’m allergic to noise and you hurt my ears but I still love you. You are up all night and you are part of our family. If someone takes you I’ll be sad. I’d be happy to sell you but I still love you. Kendra are you awake…are you awake???
And now they are both finally sleeping!!!

Apple Day
We went to Edward's Orchard today to pick apples. I've never done this before, but I recommend it. We filled up our basket a lot faster with apples than we did when we went strawberry picking. Kendra had to have her own basket to fill. I think she only got the one apple and then was to interested in eating the apples.

Tanner was a hard worker, but also loved eating the apples. He had two by the time we finished picking.
Kara always has to pull a face and Tanner is a great poser (he'll stand and smile until the camera is off of him).
We went with Tanner's friend Magnus and his family, Val and his family, and the Korensteins.

Kendra had a hard time carting around all the apples that she wanted.
The orchard had a cute play area for the kids, pony rides, and a petting zoo.

Afterwards we had apple doughnuts, and had to buy a couple of carmel apples to bring home.

School's Out
Tanner and Kara didn't have school today so we took off to Rockford to the Children's Museum.
They had a Veterinarian Role Play display. It was fun to watch them take care of the animals. Kara is grooming a dog here.
Tanner is checking out an x-ray.
Kendy loved the water station. I had to keep her from drinking the water.

It's Official!!!
It appears that we are going to be in Janesville for another three years. I signed my contract yesterday to begin residency on the "green team" (which deals a lot with sports medicine). I start Feb. 8, 2009. I'm excited to be able to start early.
