We Made It!

Friday afternoon my Dad called and said that we might want to leave asap from WI because of the coming snow storms. We hurried and packed the car, leaving the house in utter chaos and left Friday afternoon at 4:30 with the plan of driving through the night to avoid the storm. Kendra is an awful traveler (she has rarely left Janesville, WI) so at two o'clock in the morning when she was still crying, not sleeping or letting anyone else sleep we decided to stop for the night in Nebraska. Kendy was so happy to lay down in a bed, she fell right to sleep.

Saturday we drove until about 5 pm when we were slipping all over the road and decided that although we were only two hours from our destination we had better stop because the we knew there was more snow ahead. Tanner was in tears because he wanted to be at Grandma's.

Sunday morning we finally arrived to Heber around 11am. The kids were very happy to be out of the car and so were we. It was a long trip. We went to eat burgers and bowl at the bowling alley Monday night.

Seen and Heard

My kids, especially Kara have been on a roll. They make me smile daily!

Heard:

Kara: "Dad my ears hurt. Can you check them with your lightoscope?"
Barry: "My Otoscope?"
Kara: "Yeah, you Totumscope!"

Kara: (While looking at herself in the mirror) "Mom, when I make a fish face I have pimples."
Jodie: "What do you mean?"
Kara: (Making a fish face) "See, pimples!"
Jodie: "I think you mean dimples!"

Jodie: "Kara how did you get so many snarls in you hair" (as I'm trying to brush her hair).
Kara: "I don't know.....probably it was Satan."

Tanner: "I got a highlighter today at school."
Kara: Very concerned, "Tan, the firefighter that came to my school said not to play with highlighters."
Tanner: "No you can play with highlighters, but not lighters."
Kara: "Oh."

Kara: While playing 'Mom and kid' with Kendra, with Kendra as the mom. "Mom, don't do that. Stop sitting on the computer."

Kara: Talking about what happened at school that day. "We had Kip the dog come. Kips a pearathy dog."
Jodie: "I think you mean therapy dog."

Kara watching Aunt Stacy's Elf dance. "Stacy is a cute little elf!"

It is difficult to understand Kendra, but today she asked me this.
Kendra: "Where's Kara?"

Seen

Kendy giving thumbs up with her index finger.

Kendra going up to the stage at Tanner's school performance to give him a big hug, during the performance.

Kara pulling out of her pocket a waded up napkin with some little bits of snack that she saved from school to share with Kendra.

Tanner and Kara both surprising each other by finishing the others chores.
