Acor Family Reunion Day 2 and 3

We took a little field trip about 20 minutes away to Kamas to their rec-center.  Tanner couldn't get wet so he climbed the rock wall and enjoyed other activities!

 The swimming pool is always fun, it is tradition for my family to visit it each visit to Heber.

 It is also tradition to go to Summit Inn Pizza after swimming for some delicious pizza and breadsticks.  We decided that we would head to Park City to Olympic Park to watch the ski jumpers practice in the pool.  Kendra is with her cousin Carley.

After dinner we celebrated Julie's Birthday

 More cousins came and we played more games!

 These guys didn't like being on garbage duty at all when they got to take the Jeep out for a spin.

 The last day after cleaning up we went to Barry's mom side of the family the Larson reunion.  We were able to get most of us there, but wish we would have taken a group shot the night before.  It was great to spend time with these amazing people!

Acor Family Reunion Day 1

My parents let all of the Acors use the Belcher Family cabin for our reunion.  Barry and I were over the reunion this year, and luckily my dad had lots of ideas of fun things to do while staying there!  The biggest hit of all was hiding $25.00 worth of change in the sand by the creek.  Young and old alike enjoyed this and it kept them busy for hours!  It really paid off for the ones that spent time there!

The big activity was a group scavenger hunt.  Everyone was divided into teams and given a clue.

The clues took us on a hike all over the property.  With every clue was an object to be used in the end to make a boat.  

 Here is one of the groups trying to figure out how to make a boat using all of their supplies. Their boat not only had to float across the creek, but had to keep a candle lit while crossing the creek.  Tanner looks really excited!

This group came late, but still got all the supplies for their boat.

 We were lucky to have Grandpa, Daniel and Barry on the team, they came up with a pretty great boat!

We decided to have two groups go at a time and see how many times the boat could go back and forth to get the winner.  

Kendra attached herself to one of her cousins, Rebecca.  It was fun for all of my kids to have the chance to hang out and get to know their cousins better, which has been difficult to do while living far away.

 For dinner Julie brought hotdogs to roast and smores for dessert!

Tanner's Tumble

We drove straight from California to Heber City, UT to visit Grandma and Grandpa Belcher and also to have the Acor Family Reunion.  Just before the reunion started Tanner split his leg open on a brick fire pit.  It was pretty late and Barry was disappointed that he didn't bring any supplies with him to stitch Tan up.  Luckily my mom works for a dentist in town that let Barry use some of his supplies and his office.  Tanner was a little nervous about getting stitches.  

 Then he realized that he was in good hands!

The only bummer about this was that there was no swimming for Tanner for a few days (the entire reunion) .

Visiting The Korensteins in California

Everyone was so happy to see each other.  It was like no time had passed at all!

 We went down to the boardwalk area to watch the fireworks, there was a carnival beforehand where we danced and hula hooped to live music.

 We spent the next day at the ocean and Redwoods.

 Then we went to the tide pools.  The water was freezing, but it didn't stop the kids from getting soaked.

 They found a starfish while exploring.

 The kids enjoyed the water so much that the next day we went to the beach to play in the water (just the kids played in the water I had pants and a jacket on the entire time, it was far too cold to want to swim for me).

 Most of their time was spent playing in the sand!

This is in their backyard, seriously the Redwoods are their backyard.  We even saw a deer come up on their lawn one of the days.  It was really good to see them and their beautiful home!
