Barry made it through his first week of residency, although it was a rough first couple of days trying to get used to everything at the hospital. All in all, he has enjoyed his first week of being a doctor. He was on call last night and was able to get four consecutive hours of sleep last night, which is pretty good. He is napping now.
Tanner has been sick since last Saturday. He had a fever on Sat. and it continued until Tuesday, when I took him to the doctor because he was complaining of pain in his right side under his ribs and he couldn't get a good deep breath in. Poor Tanner, couldn't even walk into the doctor's office, he was in so much pain. He needed me to carry him, which made Kendra a little jealous. The doctor said that Tanner had pneumonia, and an ear infection and gave him a prescription. The next day Tan was feeling a little better, no pain in his side, but still a fever and cough. Thursday Kara complained of an earache, I gave her some pain medication and sent her to school. Friday Kara had a fever and her ear hurt so I made her stay home, she was disappointed that she had to miss her Valentine's party at school, but her friend Lily brought them to her later that day. Tanner missed the entire week of school and is finally feeling better today, still not completely normal, but he did get dressed today and asked for food! I'm really hoping that he is well enough to go to school on Monday. Kara is cranky today and still complains that her ear hurts. I hope she feels better soon, I need to be able to get out of the house this next week. All week I thought how ironic it was that Barry was home for an entire month and no one was sick, as soon as he started working we have a crazy week of sickness.
Tracy and Steven were so nice to help me all week taking Kara to school and bringing Tanner things from school, bringing us dinner and treats, and making sure all was well.
